Share
Pregnant and looking for a few maternity pieces to add to your wardrobe? When the high street no longer stocks maternity wear, we need to turn online for all our maternity clothes needs. But sorting through a load of Temu and Shein search results gets tedious, so we've put together this list of maternity clothes brands to help guide the way.
Whether you're looking for high end maternity clothes or the top maternity wear brands, this list cuts through the noise.
As with most of us, it's unlikely you've browsed maternity wear until you got pregnant. We don't want you to discover the best maternity clothes brands after you've given birth, so we hope this list finds you right when need it.
We've sorted the list into alphabetical order, click on the brand to go directly to their website or the UK stockist's website.
Consider this your directory of maternity wear retailers. Share it far and wide, and say goodbye to frumpy maternity clothes.
This list is regularly updated as and when new brands change or brands drop their maternity collections.
Beyond Nine
You may already have come across Beyond Nine pre-pregnancy. The brand creates clothes that can be worn as our bodies change through out lives. Beyond Nine's clothes aren't necessarily maternity wear or postpartum wear. Instead, they are cleverly cut with small adaptions to make them pregnancy friendly and perfect for nursing, but also beyond postpartum as the name suggests.
Beyond Nine's clothes are reasonably priced. Jumpsuits or dresses will set you back roughly £90 - £130, but these clothes are made to last. Make sure you have a look in the sale, you might find the jumpsuit you love in a different colour with a great reduction.

Boob Design
We've talked about Boob Design in blog posts. We love its organic maternity wear collection. It's a great place to find maternity wear essentials because the range of clothing is huge. You can get what you're looking for in a few different colours. It's one of the top maternity brands for this reason.
Boob Design have gone one step further with their maternity clothes collection. You're able to shop by trimester. Perhaps it's overkill but it slims down the collection to the basics you probably feel you need at that stage in your pregnancy.
Bump & Milk
We can't get enough of Bump & Milk. This breastfeeding and maternity clothes brand is the brand everyone should know about as soon as they're pregnant. The collection is to die for.
Bump & Milk use natural fabrics wherever they can, they produce their clothes in small manufacturing runs to reduce waste and everything they sell is made to cater for changing bodies. The collection is also fashionable without an ounce of frumpy.
The prices are reasonable, especially when there's a sale on, you are spending a bit more with Bump & Milk than your average high street brand but these are high end maternity dresses at good prices.

Bumpsuit
Bumpsuit is another high end maternity clothes brand, there's no two ways about it. The prices might feel a little extravagant for many of us, especially when there's so many things to buy before the baby arrives.
But if you're on the hunt for the eponymous pregnancy jumpsuit, the "Bumpsuit", this is where you'll find it. And once you've got it, the four way stretch makes it practical for postpartum and many years into the future.
Bumpsuit has much more than jumpsuits to offer. Make sure you take a look at their dresses and other essentials. Their maternity dresses tick all the right boxes if you want to show off your bump.
Bravissimo
Tricky to find when on the website, but once found, the maternity swimwear collection by Bravissimo is brilliant. If you're pregnant and planning a sunny holiday, you'll want to keep Bravissimo in mind for all your maternity swimwear needs.
The maternity swimwear collection is priced on the higher side of good value. You'll be looking at around £70 for a swimming costume. Depending on your body, it is likely to fit you postpartum so you will hopefully get a good six months out of it, at least.

Cari
Visit the British brand Cari if you're looking for high end maternity clothes. This is not your typical maternity clothes brand. The fabrics are luxurious, the dresses are flattering, and there's not a frumpy silhouette in sight.
It is expensive, which you'd expect for high end maternity dresses, but the clothes are fashionable. You're looking at around £110 - £170 for a dress or a set of co-ords.
Cari is a great brand to know about if you're looking for one of two maternity work outfits for a smart office dress code. What's even better is that many of the items are designed to be worn postpartum and beyond.
Emilia George
An American brand focussed on sustainable maternity wear. It's another high end maternity clothes brand with prices on the higher side of life but if you're looking for a maternity wedding guest dress, this is the first place I'd look.
There's a perfectly sized selection of elegant gowns that drape over a bump in that way only luxury brands seem to manage. And, as per their sustainable credentials, many of the items are made from recycled and breathable fabrics.
A lot of the clothes are also nursing friendly and there's no reason why the clothes can't be worn sans bump.
H&M Mama
One of the cheap maternity clothes brands on this list, but it's also one of the top maternity brands to consider when looking for outfits. There're some brilliant pieces for weddings or baby showers. But there's also a good selection of basic items that will keep you covered during the last trimester.
Basic maternity t-shirts are priced at around £10, maternity trousers suitable for the office are priced between £25 and £35. They also offer before and after jeans with a hidden elasticated waistband to see you through pregnancy and the postpartum period.
The maternity collection at H&M is better online than in the high street shops. It's not ideal if you'd prefer to try items on but here's a top tip - if you select click and collect, you can try the items on in store and return whatever you don't want straight after.
Ilouity
A high end maternity brand from Sweden best known for their denim. Ilouity jeans come highly rated from anyone on Reddit.
The prices are high for a pair of jeans you might only wear for six months to a year, think £140+ for a pair. That being said, if you live in jeans and are likely to get a lot of wear out of them, then you'll easily get your money's worth.
The maternity jeans come in five different styles, five different colours and three different leg lengths. Denim fans, rejoice!
Isabella Oliver
A brand you may already be familiar with. It is more of a high end maternity clothes brand than some of the other brands on this list. If you're likely to be pregnant more than once, then it's a great place to invest in an office maternity clothes wardrobe.
Isabella Oliver also offers clothes to rent and a small pre-loved collection of maternity clothes. If you're looking for a smart outfit for a one off event, it might be worth looking into the rental options at Isabella Oliver.

JoJo Maman Bebe
Not just baby clothes. JoJo Maman Bebe has a good selection of nursing and maternity clothes. If you're looking for well-priced maternity clothes which can also be used for nursing, then JoJo is a good place to start. It's rated really highly on Reddit.
Dresses range from £30 - £50 and there are about 60 to choose from currently. There's also a good selection of maternity office trousers to help you get dress comfortably and smartly at the office in those last few months.
A top tip from Reddit is to search for JoJo Maman Bebe on Vinted. The secondhand maternity market is huge and cheap especially for brands like JoJo.
Jorgen House
Available online and also at Wolf and Badger. Bras, bodysuits and briefs are what Jorgen House specialise in. The items take you from maternity to postpartum and beyond. A particular favourite of this brand is their magnetic nursing bra that takes the fiddly part out of breastfeeding.
Other favourites are Jorgen House's leggings. Supportive and flattering maternity leggings are always desirable. I've come across many a post on Reddit that discuss the best maternity leggings. These ones come up trumps if you're willing to invest £80.
Mama;licious
This Danish brand offers a huge selection of maternity and nursing clothes. It's one of the top maternity brands. Already well-priced but look in their sale section to get a real bargain. If you're on a budget, this is the place to find a few pieces to make the last few months of your pregnancy more comfortable.
Mango
Mango hasn't got the biggest collection of maternity clothes, but if you're a fan of the minimalist Mango or Zara style, then you'll want to have a look.
A maternity dress from Mango will set you back around £30 and they also have cheap maternity tops and blouses that cost around £20. With prices as reasonable as that, it's hard to go wrong. The only downside is that the sizes only go up to a UK 14, so it's not size inclusive.
Najell
This brand doesn't have the biggest range of maternity wear but it's a good one to have a look at if you're looking for something a bit different. It's the place to look for dressy with a touch of edgy maternity wear. You can still do statement dressing when you've got a bump.
Next
Online, NEXT has a range of maternity clothes that goes beyond their own collection. You'll find JoJo Maman Bebe, Seraphine, along with activewear brands that have a maternity collection including Sweaty Betty.
If you're looking for a few items of office wear to tide you over, checking out NEXT before looking elsewhere can cut shopping time down. They also have a good range of formal maternity dresses if you're looking for something special.
The prices from NEXT's own collection are good value.

New Look
New Look has one of the best high street maternity wear ranges. Unfortunately for most of us, it's no longer actually on the high street. Instead, you'll want to venture online to browse the good collection of over bump maternity jeans they're known for.
At the moment there's over 200 items in New Look's maternity wear collection. It's all well-priced. And speaking from experience, the jeans hold up well. I bought a pair of second hand New Look maternity jeans on Vinted, wore them solidly for three months and passed them onto a friend who did the same and even wore them for a few months postpartum.
If you're looking for maternity office clothes, New Look can help freshen up your wardrobe and stop you from relying on your husband's work shirts. They can become your last resort!

Ripe
An Australian brand stocked by John Lewis and Tiffany Rose in the UK. It isn't a cheap maternity clothes brand but it is reasonable priced and the range is more fashionable. Ripe is ideal if you're looking for a specific piece for an occasion such as a wedding or even your baby shower.
And rather wonderfully, much of Ripe's clothing is designed for postpartum and nursing mothers. Truly extending the life indefinitely of any clothing bought during pregnancy. It's a good place to look for more classic clothes that will stand the test of time.

Seraphine
Seraphine has recently gone into administration and the website has been taken offline but the range from this top maternity brand can currently be bought online at John Lewis and Next. And failing that, look on secondhand marketplaces such as Vinted and eBay. Some of the items that are worth looking for secondhand include Seraphine's padded jackets which can be used for walks postpartum when carrying your baby.
Tiffany Rose
This brand specialises in maternity occasion wear, so if you're looking for high end maternity clothes fit for a wedding, the races, or even a gender reveal party, Tiffany Rose is worth a look. You can view the whole collection on their website or have a look at a pared down selection for sale at John Lewis.
If you're getting married while pregnant and have been looking for a dress that will cover your bump, Tiffany Rose can help you out. The vast maternity bridal wear collection includes tailored silk and lace dresses at reasonable prices.
Vertbaudet
You're onto a winner with Vertbaudet's maternity clothes range. You'll find fashionable items alongside everyday basics. And all at reasonable prices. Many of the items double up as nursing friendly clothes to help you get more bang for your buck.
Currently, there's over 600 items in this top maternity brands' range. You will find frumpy as well as fabulous so it is a case of sorting through the list. That being said, I'd consider this a good starting place for whatever you're looking for.
Yours
If you're looking for a good selection of plus-sized maternity clothes, Yours is a good place to start. From plus-sized maternity swimwear to maternity jeans in different styles, the online retailer doesn't disappoint.
Many of the items sold by Yours are also designed to take you into motherhood, with a lot of items also geared towards plus-sized nursing mums.
