Returning to work after a long break is never easy. And neither is leaving your baby in the care of others. But to help you look forward to your first week back, I suggest you find a few new outfits to make you look more confident than you might feel. If you're still breastfeeding and will be expressing in the office, you'll want to find some nursing friendly work clothes. That's where this list should help.
We've scoured the web to find pumping friendly clothes. Even with a designated pumping room at work, you may still prefer to be discreet about it. Finding the perfect office clothes for nursing mums isn't easy but we've made a crack at it so you have a head start.
So without further ado, here's our pick of the best nursing friendly work clothes for autumn 2025.
Ripe Tie Waist Shirt Dress

This maternity midi dress from Ripe is also made for nursing. The buttons down the front help make it pumping friendly while being perfectly suited to a smart office dress code. Throw on some boots and a blazer and you're ready for autumn in the office with the added benefit of a 20 minute pumping break for some R&R.
Sold at John Lewis, £109, sizes XS - XXL
Ripe Knit Fitted Dress

This ticks so many boxes when looking for pumping friendly clothes. It's another Ripe dress but this time without buttons and a fitted style. Again this dress is maternity and nursing friendly but with the crossover top part it's a lot more discreet to wear when pumping.
And as a bonus, the maroon colour is perfect for autumn. Now to find the perfect tights, we recommend Snag every single day.
Available from John Lewis, £90, XS - XXL
Lyla & Leche
One of our favourite dress brands for nursing dresses. The small collection keeps things easy. All the nursing dresses can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. There's no extra fabric, instead there are handy and discreet zips for feeding.
From research on Reddit, I know not everyone is a fan of floral midi dresses. And while Lyla & Leche do produce some beautiful floral nursing dresses, they also stock edgier breastfeeding dresses perfect for the office. Here's the Ada dress, priced at £62.99, it's hard to find a more affordable pumping friendly dress.

Bump & Milk
Nothing screams autumn more than burgundy corduroy. And you know where you can find burgundy corduroy in a dress? At Bump & Milk. I am in love with this dress. Ruffles, elasticated cuffs and a tiered skirt. Perfection.
The Kensington Dress has been designed to be worn through your pregnancy, while breastfeeding and for ever after. The discreet zips for breastfeeding means no one would ever know they were there.
If you're not a corduroy fan Bump & Milk has more office clothes for nursing mums. There's currently a gingham number as well as a leopard print midi dress.

Beyond Nine
If you prefer tops over dresses have a look at Beyond Nine's collection. When it comes to pumping in the office, you'll want to find something that has a little extra room. You absolutely do not want to have to end up undressing your top half, even if your pumping room at work comes with a lock.
If you're like me, pumping at work as a breastfeeding mum, you want to maintain a level of professionalism in how you dress but also not have to wear anything made of stretchy material with navy blue stripes. That's why I love these Tyler vests from Beyond Nine. Worn with a pair of tailored trousers and you're winning at expressing at work, but discreetly.
At £129, it is an investment, but they are a classic that can span multiple seasons. And you don't just need to be nursing to get some use out of it.
