The five best maternity jeans brands you might not have heard of… yet
Share
Let me start this off by saying that you don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe when you're pregnant. But, as jeans tend to be a staple, it can pay dividends to invest in some well-fitting maternity jeans. So if I was planning a maternity wardrobe, I’d prioritise finding a good pair of maternity jeans over any other items.
Now, if you prefer to stick to the high street brands with maternity clothes, scroll down to find a quick summary of some well-known retailers selling maternity denim. There's a lot to choose from but you'll have to find them online as a lot of the "high street" shops don't stock all of their maternity range.
On the other hand, if you're looking at some of the most well-reviewed or high-end maternity jeans brands that you might not have heard of yet, then carry on reading.
Whether you’re looking for over the bump jeans or below the belly maternity jeans, boyfriend style pregnancy jeans or cropped slim leg denim, these brands have it all.
Bae the Label
First on our list is Bae the Label. These are an investment piece. Recently reviewed by a good friend in Sydney, here's her feedback on the wide leg, low slung Bae maternity jeans aka boyfriend style pregnancy jeans:
"I really think the fabric quality is good for the price - like mid to expensive range. I was happy to spend a bit more because I want to wear them for the whole of my pregnancy. From first trimester to postpartum as well and then hopefully if I have any other children. So I viewed them more as an investment.
"I love the low slung feature because they're really comfy and I like the elasticated waistband as well because if I need it then great they grow with me, they're really comfortable.
"It feels like I'm just wearing joggers to be honest, but I look a bit more put together, so I will be planning on dressing these up for meals out, as well as just wearing them at the weekend around the house." - P, Sydney
Bae is an Australian brand and it's pretty new to the maternity market, relatively speaking. That being said, you can shop the website in the UK, but it is dispatched from Melbourne, which is something to bear in mind.
Check the reviews before purchasing anything as you won't want to get the sizing wrong. And at £99 a pop, it could be a costly mistake. But they do look good, see below...

Beyond Nine
Once again another investment piece. If you prefer a less form-fitting silhouette, jeans from Beyond Nine are made for you. And they’re incredibly inclusive, perfect for pre-pregnancy, antenatally and postnatally. So you're not necessarily buying from a pregnancy jeans brand.
With over 20 pairs of denim jeans to choose from, Beyond Nine have quite the selection. From barrel leg to wide leg, the cut is comfortable.
A quick disclaimer - although this is a brand known for maternity clothes, not all jeans are suitable during the later stages of pregnancy. It's worth reading the reviews to double check the compatibility.
My absolute favourite pregnancy-friendly jeans from Beyond Nine are the Blair Denim Jeans, seen here in a blue and white stripe.

You are paying for good quality denim that will see you through many years of motherhood. And at £139 you'll want them to last.
The best thing about Beyond Nine is that it's not fast fashion. If you like the way something fits you, you know you'll be able to find it again and again. And then also perhaps in another colour next season and all seasons beyond.
Ilouity Maternity Jeans
These are not cheap maternity jeans. And it may feel extravagant to be buying expensive jeans for a short season of your life. So let’s look at what makes Ilouity customers buy Ilouity maternity jeans.
They have your classic straight leg and flared jeans but the ones we really lust after are the boyfriend maternity jeans along with the wide fit dark denim pair below. At £165, they are not a spontaneous purchase. But if you're living in denim during the work week and at the weekend, then you won't regret buying a pair of maternity jeans that make you feel fabulous.
Ilouity reviews are mixed but that seems to be because of the customer service and shipping issues. So take that as you want.

Although ilouity is an up and coming brand, you might get lucky and be able to find a pair on Vinted. It's worth setting an alert if you've got your heart set on some.
Lovall
When starting to research maternity jeans brands for this post, Lovall kept popping up on forums. It comes well-recommended by new mothers on Reddit. What started off as The Home of Leggings has become the go to place for maternity denim and comfortable postpartum bottoms.
The jeans are affordable at around the £40 mark. It's a small range with only a few styles in different colours - straight leg maternity jeans and skinny fit. But what stands out most in all the recommendations is the comfort factor.
With hundreds of reviews on their own website, it's clear that there's a lot of fans out there. The sizing is inclusive, with short, regular and long lengths available in UK sizes 6 - 28. There's a lot to shout about with Lovall maternity jeans - it's well worth giving them a go. Especially if you're after a pair of maternity jeggings, as seen below.

New Look
Last on our list of maternity jeans brands to look out for is New Look. These are by no-means high-end but they are high quality. I lived in a pair of New Look boyfriend maternity jeans for the majority of 2024. They were cut comfortably and the belly band added a layer of support.
What’s to love about New Look maternity jeans? The price first and foremost. But also the denim and the cut. Many of the styles have an over the bump panel, but not all.
People rave about New Look's maternity range on Reddit and Mumsnet. And having tested them out myself, I can also vouch for this maternity jeans brand. I think these Adalae jeans are so flattering.

High Street Pregnancy Jeans Options
Other high street brands offering a good selection of maternity jeans include NEXT, River Island, and H&M.
Isabella Oliver also has a good selection of denim maternity wear. Particularly, if you're looking for slim leg maternity jeans. The styles are more classic rather than on-trend.
And lastly, Seraphine had a good reputation as a maternity jeans brand. Although it's gone into administration, all is not lost. Visit Vinted and search for Seraphine maternity jeans and you'll be bombarded with hits, 500+ results on my last search.
